Rajnikant’s “Sultan” progressing fast

There is no certainty yet about the date of the release of Rajnikant’s animated film “Sultan, the Warrior”.
Co-producer of the film Soundarya Rajnikant has merely said: “All I want is to gift a good, classy film to my Dad, and such a gift can be given for Deepavali or it can be an early New Year gift.”
However, speculation continues about the film’s possible release as early as July.
No matter when the film actually sees the light of day, Rajnikant, following in the footsteps of Shahrukh Khan and Aaamir Khan, is set to develop a six-pack abs even for an animated film.
What Soundarya is thrilled about is that Sultan bears a marked resemblance to Rajnikant in real life, thanks to technology.
“It is a commercial film, though set in the Chola period, depicting love, betrayal, revenge, action and humour,” she has said.
She recalls from the film one of the dialogues she has written: “Sultan is not a leaf to be blown away in the wind, but a mountain, unshakable.”
Believed to cost $5 million, the film has been in the making for some years now. However, Ravikumar Anandaraj, chief technical officer and executive producer, has revealed that 70 per cent of the film is complete, and that revelation has reinforced speculation that the film may be released in July.
The English and Japanese versions will be released according to the “theatrical release norms of England and Japan,” according to Soundarya.
While on Rajnikant’s daughter, another of his daughters, Aishwarya Rajnikant, is reported to be lending her voice for Aishwarya Bachchan’s characters in Shankar’s “Eiyandiran” as well as in Mani Ratnam’s “Raavana”.
